Week Two Football Wrap-Up: Ironmen Triumph in Chili Bowl, Close Calls for UHigh and Bloomington

NORMAL, Ill. — Week 2 of IHSA football has come and gone. All 5 Bloomington-normal area teams were in action, and without further ado, let’s get into it.
The Ironmen of Normal Community hosted Normal West in a rivalry matchup and senior night. The Ironmen defeated the Wildcats in the Chili Bowl 48-7.
The Ironmen will host Urbana next week for homecoming. The Wildcats, on the other hand, will travel to Danville to take on the Vikings. Both will play on Friday at 7 pm.
UHigh lost a close one on the road to the Bloomington Purple Raiders. Bloomington was able to squeak by the Pioneers by a field goal with a final score of 41-38.
UHigh will return home this week to host MacArthur. Bloomington will keep the homestead going, hosting Manual. Both games are on Friday at 7 pm.
Wrapping up week 3 with the Bloomington Central Catholic Saints, they took care of business against Rantoul. They won big with a final of 56-0. Week 3 will be a road game for the Saints, who will take on the Paxton-Buckley-Loda Panthers on Friday at 7.
