NORMAL, Ill.- Joshua Crockett is a graduate who looks to come back and help improve the college that gave him so much.
Crockett is running for Heartland Community College’s board. If elected, he plans to expand access to the college.
“I want to help expand access to education, to expand the offerings of the college and to make sure that every person has the opportunity to take advantage of the innovative educational experience that heartland has to offer,” said Crockett.
As a Heartland graduate, Crocket says that he knows what students are going through.
“I understand that students are facing the high prices of textbooks, I understand that students are having trouble physically accessing the college through transportation, that they’re having trouble accessing the colleges financial resources,” said Crockett. “I understand what they’re going through, I know what it’s like to be a student.”
