NORMAL, Ill. – Governor J.B. Pritzker attended the World Economic Forum in Switzerland this past week.
While he was there he lent insight on important topics and touted the successes of his administration, including the economy, reproductive rights, and the banning of assault weapons, and claimed by 2045 Illinois will be carbon-free.
This statement refers to the Illinois Climate and Equitable Jobs Act, which aimed to turn Illinois energy to clean energy by 2050, and an infrastructure plan called Rebuild Illinois which will cost the state $45 billion.
He also delivered a warning, saying it will be a while before the inflation drops to 2%, which is the Federal goal for the national economy.
“I don’t know whether we’ll get to a recession, certainly hoping not, although we have to plan properly for that, but my expectation is that it will not be a deep recession if there is one,” said Governor Pritzker.
