NORMAL, Ill. – Theft was the most frequently reported crime by Illinois State University police this week. The first incident occurred on Monday around 10 a.m. at Haynie Hall, followed by another on Thursday evening at Watterson Towers. Police also responded to domestic disputes on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
The Normal Police Department reported a series of thefts throughout the week. On Thursday, two incidents were reported. One around 7 p.m. near Phoenix and Broadway, and another an hour later near Raab and Main. Police also recorded five thefts on Monday and another five on Wednesday.
On Thursday, Bloomington police arrested a suspect on charges of manufacturing or delivering cocaine, along with an undisclosed Schedule IV substance. That same day, a 25-year-old Bloomington man was taken into custody on multiple charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle, burglary, criminal damage, and obstructing a peace officer.
