NORMAL, Ill. – With midterms approaching, Illinois State University students are preparing for some of the most challenging exams of the semester while balancing classes, studying and other responsibilities.
For some students, preparing for midterms means spending extra hours studying, while others work in study groups or even meet with tutors. With multiple exams, assignments, and projects approaching, students are finding different ways to organize their coursework.
Emily Mobley, a junior majoring in Music Education, said her music history class is her most challenging class this semester.
“There’s a lot of information you have to know,” Mobley said. “And there’s a ton of quizzes and a ton of exams.”
Mobley said she has been preparing for her upcoming exam by studying her notes and writing everything on one notecard. She spends around five hours a week studying for her music history class.
As midterms get closer, students are finding different ways to stay organized and prepared for their most challenging classes. For students like Emily Mobley, those hours of studying could make all the difference when it’s time to take the exam.
