Birds-I-View: The Big Beautiful Bill

In the September edition of “Birds-I-View” Colleen Holden and Bella Marello took a look at the massive tax and spending cuts bill referred to the “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” and how it recently passing into law will affect the Bloomington-Normal area.
The show opened with Bella Marello looking into the legislative process behind the bill and what the opposing and supporting sides had to say on it (1:28-4:58). Following this, Colleen Holden focused on the local effects of the bill on McLean County (5:23-8:46).
Next, June Delahunty took a look at the bill’s cuts to Medicaid and SNAP funding (9:34-11:27). Ally Cooper dived into the bill’s effects on the student loan process (11:58-15:11).
Then, Nathan Cihak examined what will be changed in the tipping system and what this means for McLean County businesses and workers (15:51-18:37). The show closed with Luke Biondi looking into the economic ramifications of the bill (18:53-22:42).
