NORMAL Ill. – A quarter of the season has come and gone in IHSA football. Only two of the five Bloomington-Normal teams were victorious this weekend. And on that note, let’s get into the recap.
Kicking it off with Normal Community, the Ironmen lost to the Kankakee Kays 26-13. The Kays dominated on offense all game. This notches the Ironmen the first loss of the season, and they are off to Manual this week. Their week 5 game against the Rams is Friday at 7.
Normal West lost in near blowout fashion to Bloomington with a final of 48-16. Bloomington did not allow a score until the second half, when the Wildcats finally got on the board. Normal West will host Peoria at home on Friday at 7 pm.
After handling Normal West last Friday, Bloomington is now 4-0. The Purple Raiders will take on Urbana on the road Friday at 7 and will try to keep the streak alive.
UHigh dominated Lincoln in week 4 with an astounding 4-0 victory. The Pioneers are now 3-1 on the year and will travel to Rochester on Friday. The game is slated for a 7 pm start.
Bloomington Central Catholic lost a very tough one in Week 4 to Monticello. The Saints had more total yards but still were unable to prevail in the end. In Week 5, they will travel to Tolono Unity. The Saints will take on the Rockets at 7 pm Friday.
