Three Subjects Apprehended by Normal PD in Attempted Robbery

NORMAL, Ill. – At attempted robbery at Target left three suspects in custody of the Normal Police Department.
According to NPD at approximately 2 p.m. NPD was notified by a citizen regarding two suspicious vehicles driving slowly through the Target parking lot.
Upon arriving at the retail store NPD was able to locate one of the vehicles, which officers were able to ascertain had been involved in an armed robbery in Champaign, Ill. the previous week.
Officers then moved inside the store and were then notified by employees that they believed four suspects were going to commit theft.
Upon confrontation from NPD two suspects fled out of the front of the store and were soon apprehended by officers. Two additional subjects were confronted afterwards, where an additional suspect was taken into custody for a previous retail theft as well as a charge on obstruction of justice.
The three suspects which were taken into custody were Champaign natives Lekeeshin Pickett, 45, and Charnell Brown, 40. The third suspect taken into custody is a juvenile from Champaign as well, who was wanted on a previous warrant for homicide.
Brown has been taken into custody on the charges of resisting arrest and obstructing identification. Lekeeshin on the other hand was taken into custody on the charges of felony retail theft, as well as obstruction of justice.
