NORMAL, Ill.- On Tuesday, September 24, Illinois State hosted their 75th Internship Career Fair Event at 4 p.m. in Redbird Arena.
The career fair consisted of 173 employers registered for the event. Opportunities at the career fair ranged from internships to on-campus interviews.
Career fair spokesperson Mike Minton expands on the benefit of the career fair for students.
“Students and Employers agreed they need to be better at researching employers and communicating with employers,” Minton said.
The fair used a program called “Insta- Career” last Thursday night to help students prepare their resumes and it provided free resume printing or business cards.
Students gathered at booths like the State Farm booth and other major corporations. An independent contractor of State Farm said, “This is a great opportunity that, maybe when I was a senior, I wish I was introduced to.”
Employers held a mock session that gave students a chance to practice interviews in a welcoming environment and the employers advised students on how to prepare.
The career fair provides students with the opportunity to meet multiple organizations as students begin their very own career.
