NORMAL Ill. Illinois State women’s basketball will look to get back on the right track today as they take on the Evansville Purple Aces on the road, after dropping a game to Southern Illinois on Friday.

The Redbirds enter the game having won four of their last five. Illinois State holds a 14–10 overall record and is 8–5 in conference play. Evansville comes into the matchup with a 6–19 overall record and a 4–10 mark in conference play.

This will be the 67th meeting between the two programs, with Illinois State leading the all-time series 49–19. The Redbirds have also won 17 straight games against the Purple Aces, dating back to 2017.

Leading the way for the Redbirds this season is sophomore forward Doneelah Washington, a three-time Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week. Washington is leading the team in scoring with 16.6 points per game and in rebounding with 8.8 rebounds per game.

For Evansville, sophomore guard Camryn Runner leads the Purple Aces in both scoring and assists. Runner is averaging 17 points per game and five assists per game.

Illinois State has not suffered a loss to Evansville since the 2016–17 season. Today’s matchup will tip off at 3 p.m. at the Meeks Family Fieldhouse.
