BLOOMINGTON – The Recreation and Cultural Arts and Fleet Feet Bloomington will host its annual Ugliest Sweater run this Saturday at 1:00 with Bloomington Parks
The Event will offer both a 1.5 mile and a 3-mile non- competitive run or walk in Miller park. The event is provided to spark fun for the Bloomington-Normal community.
There is a variety of people that can be expected at the event, people who are getting into the spirit of the holidays, people who like to run, people who like to wear ugly sweater, and people who are just coming to get some exercise.
The Recreation and Cultural Arts and Fleet Feet Bloomington, Program Director Jill Eichholz, explains what the race means for the community.
“I mean this is part of our lineup of things that we offered. A few years ago, people were wishing that there was something here in the community, and so we partnered with Fleet Feet in Bloomington and we just decided to have it and it has become just something kind of fun that people look forward to.”
The event will not include traditional prizes for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd places since the race is non-competitive. The race will include prizes for ugliest sweater, loudest sweater, best sweater couple, etc.
