So Much (for) Stardust is American rock band Fall Out Boy’s eighth studio album.
Released on March 24th, 2023, this album was highly anticipated by fans as shown by the
charting single on the album. Being their first album in four years, it automatically caught a lot
of attention, as the beloved pop punk band is finally back. The album starts with the single “Love
From The Other Side,” which is an upbeat rock song which has that classic Fall Out Boy sound.
To help build anticipation for the album, the band played this single live on Jimmy Kimmel,
which helped the song get more attention as well. The song “Hold Me Like a Grudge” is another
song on the album, which Fall Out Boy made a music video for as well. This song is my personal
favorite choice from the album, as it’s catchy and fun. In addition, the music video shows scenes
of Fall Out Boy history, like injuries at shows in their beginning stages, and the monk from the
cover of their album “Save Rock and Roll.”
Another favorite song of mine from this album is “Heaven, Iowa”, as it is a slower but still exciting song. My third favorite song from this album would have to be “Flu Game” as it has a harder sound than many other songs on the album. Personally, punk is one of my favorite genres, so when I heard this track I instantly loved it. As a way to promote this album, Fall Out Boy announced a tour, which would start at Wrigley Field in Chicago in June, and will end in Europe in November.
Though I personally was not much of a Fall Out Boy fan before this album, I will definitely listen to them more after hearing this album.
Overall, I’d give this album a 8/10, as I really enjoyed the overall vibe of the album. Hopefully this won’t be the last we hear from Fall Out Boy, as critics have claimed their new album is the best Fall Out Boy album in 15 years.
