Written by on April 3, 2019

BLOOMINGTON – A homicide shooting occurred last night in Bloomington.

At approximately 9:48 p.m., Bloomington Police responded to reports of shots fired on the 1200 block of Orchard Road in Bloomington. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male later identified as Nathaniel Caldwell, 26, with gunshot wounds. Caldwell was transported to an area hospital for treatment. His condition is described as critical, but stable.

Police also discovered additional evidence of the shooting on a street in the 1200 block of Orchard.

A short distance from the scene, authorities located a vehicle that had struck a parked car and a residence near the intersection of Wildwood and Orchard.  The sole occupant of the vehicle, identified as Juan Nash, 25, was found unresponsive with gunshot wounds. Life-saving measures were performed by officers and Rescue, but Nash succumbed to his injuries.

Shorter after both incidents, the Bloomington Police Department was notified of a 3rd victim, who was transported to an area hospital with gunshot wounds. That victim, identified as Scotty Allen, 18, is listed in critical but stable condition.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bloomington Police Department.
