NORMAL, Ill. – Director of Business Attraction for the Bloomington-Normal Economic Development Council Casey Peterson has been recognized as an emerging leader for local business and has been awarded a scholarship to support his professional growth.
The Mid-America Economic Development Council awarded Peterson their 2024 Bob Ady Scholarship. Peterson’s aim is to use this opportunity to benefit both the economic and residential aspects of Bloomington Normal.
Expressing his gratitude, Peterson highlighted his intention to utilize the scholarship toward entrepreneurial growth and residential development initiatives in the area. He emphasized the significance of this support in that it is bringing more attention to Bloomington Normal, which ultimately serves the local community.
With a particular focus on enhancing post-graduate housing options, Peterson aims to address existing gaps in Bloomington-Normal’s residential landscape. By identifying and addressing such needs, he hopes to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the region.
Peterson also sees this opportunity as a platform to promote Bloomington-Normal as a premier destination for businesses looking to relocate or expand. With his increased visibility, Peterson plans to engage with organizations across various states, advocating for the benefits of establishing a presence in Bloomington Normal.
“We are known as a leader for business attraction in the Midwest, but this is the thirteenth state organization that now is going to hear directly from me about why they should move their business to Bloomington Normal” says Peterson.
Peterson’s recognition and the accompanying scholarship represent not only personal achievement but also a significant opportunity to drive positive change and growth in Bloomington-Normal’s economic and residential growth. Through his dedicated efforts, he aims to further establish the region as a leading hub for both businesses and residents alike.
