NORMAL, Ill.– Separating from the performing side, the box office has a responsibility to provide the best service to the ISU and Bloomington-Normal community.
The Illinois State University School of Theater and Dance will be hosting their production of Guys and Dolls Wednesday night on March 4 in the Performing Arts Center located in ISU’s quad.
During the year, many events go on in the theater.
From plays, musicals, band and musical concerts the box office always is keeping busy with ticket orders, subscriptions and people coming in and out to see their favorite performances.
As far as the box office goes, many duties and responsibilities come with fulfilling the needs for the people who want to come and see events that are happening at the theater.
A box office associate Alexis Brock gives a little inside to what business is typically like throughout the school year and even beyond.
“Everything kind of fluctuates throughout the year, but we usually stay pretty busy. For the Shakespeare festival, we process online orders as well season subscriptions. We usually have a pretty steady stream with kind of dips and changes in semesters.”
With the offices responsibilities in getting tickets out to customers, there is more duties for the associates in the box office.
Curtain opens at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 4.
