BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – It’s been a rough last two matches for the Bloomington Central Catholic High School. On Monday they lost to Morton High School by a score of 6-3, and on Wednesday they fell to the hands of University High School by a score 4-1. This weekend, they’ll have an opportunity for redemption.

Tomorrow, the IHSA Sectional Tournament will begin and be played through Saturday afternoon. 8 high school teams will be competing in the tournament including 3 local high schools squads. McGraw Park and Normal Community High School will host Friday’s matches starting at 1 p.m, while McGraw Park will serve as the lone site for Saturday’s contests beginning at 9 a.m.

BCC will be hosting the tournament at McGraw Park, which serves as the school’s home court. The Saints have had their ups and downs at home this season. BCC had their way with a 9-0 victory over St. Joseph-Ogden High School, but also saw themselves on the opposite end of the 9-0 stick with a loss to Normal Community High School.

Friday’s matches will play up to the quarter-finals, while Saturday’s matches will hold the semi-finals and finals. There is a singles draw and doubles draw, and each sectional team will get two entries. All participants will be required to practice social distancing and mask-wearing when applicable.
