COLUMBIA, Mo. – Illinois State University Senior Ali Schrock matched the college’s record for best score in a single round at 68.
The last person to score a 68 for ISU women’s golf was Rachel Powers almost exactly ten years ago.
The Pontiac, Illinois native is not new to impressive matches. As a Junior, Schrock’s scoring average was 75.7 and she played in every round of every match that year.
The former MVC Scholar athlete of the year talked to WZND about her time at Illinois State University, and how much it means to her to be a Redbird.
When asked about which year of golf has been her favorite so far, Schrock replied, “Winning the conference championship as a team last year was a very proud moment of ours,” she said. “Being able to get that done, that was one of our goals early on,”
When asked about what her end goal for her golf career is, Schrock responded saying, “My dream would be to see if I can pursue a professional career,” she said. “I’m just going to focus on these next years trying to get as good as I can and then see where that leads me,”
Schrock and Redbirds’ next contest will be on Oct. 17 and 18 at the Buccaneer Classic in Charleston, S.C.
