NORMAL, Ill.- In midst of the Illinois primary, McLean County clerk says voting is “light”.

McLean County Clerk, Kathy Michael reports the number of voters is low in the county due to COVID-19 fears.

“It seems low as we usually get a good turnout before folks go to work, and it was very slow in comparison,” said Michael.

As of 1:30 p.m., ISU’s polling locations have seen low turnout with 25 voters at Watterson Dining and 125  at the Student Bone Center.

Leroy Christian Church and First Assembly of God lead the amount of turnout with 521 and 413 voters respectively.

While some voters may be hesitant to go out in public, Michael assures they are doing everything to sanitize polling locations.
