Malott Announces Candidacy for McLean County Auditor

Bloomington – Trisha Malott currently serves as the McLean County Behavioral Health Coordinating Supervisor. She announced her candidacy for seeking the Republican nomination for McLean County Auditor.
At the event several community member showed their support for their neighbor. Malott expands on the importance of McLean County to her as she builds her family.
“It gives me a reason to serve McLean County. Being a member of staff it gives me insight into what we are doing that other jurisdictions aren’t. That makes it even more exciting to serve McLean County,” Malott said. “It is about being a good steward of tax-payer dollars, it is about creating solutions and building relationships. There is a need for change. I see an opportunity to be that person.”
Malott received her Bachelor’s of science degree in Economics and Masters in social work from Illinois State University. She believes it gives her background and support in her journey to the nomination.
She is a licensed clinical Social Worker, but her professional path has been mostly administrative, which she also believes will aid to her nomination.
“I will only be me through the entire primary. I think the media and our residents have received information what some of the dynamics currently are. The issues of the Auditor office generally should have media attention,” Malott said. “The Auditor’s position is that it is financial compliance. That can be seen as a way to aid department heads, county staff and budget appearance. It is a position that keeps people accountable and responsible.”
Malott believes that cutting necessary costs in fees and personnel time, and maintaining the desire of county residents for fiscal conservatives can be done through relationship-building among department heads and elected officials.
