BLOOMINGTON Ill.- The Illinois Wesleyan Basketball program has high expectations for the 2021-2022 Season. The Titans enter the new season with a number four rank in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.

As their season was cut short last year due to COVID-19, the Wesleyan team made a statement with a record of eight and one. NCAA division three basketball did not hold a national tournament which left head coach Ron Rose and his team excited for the upcoming year.

“We did not get to test ourselves against other top teams in the country.” Said Coach Rose.

With eight of their top ten players returning this year, the Titans hope to carry over the same winning culture that ranked the team highly in the year prior.

Recreating the successful season could prove to be a challenge for Wesleyan as Ron Rose explains that not finishing the season was a big hit.

“You especially feel bad for our seniors on last year’s team that didn’t get to go off and compete.”

Rose highlighted players like Mathew Leritz, the second-team All-American post player, along with Peter Lambesis the senior All-Conference guard. The seniors look to lead the way for the Titans in the upcoming year.

The Titans will open their season on November 7 against Lake Forest.
