Week Three Football Wrap-Up: Normal West Bounces Back; Bloomington Purple Raiders Continue Winning Streak

NORMAL, Ill. – Week 3 in IHSA football has wrapped up, and we are now in mid-September. Once again, all five Bloomington-Normal teams were in action, so let’s take a look at our weekly scoreboard.
Normal Community is off to a 3-0 start to the season following a defining 56-0 win over the Urbana Tigers. The Ironmen fired on all cylinders of offense, defense, and special teams. This week, the Ironmen will travel to Kankakee for a matchup with the Kays on Friday at 7.
Normal West bounced back into the win column after losing to Normal Community in Week 2. In Week 3, it defeated Danville on the road 28-14. On Friday, it will host the Bloomington Purple Raiders at 7 p.m.
The Bloomington Purple Raiders were also able to jump out to a 3-0 start with a week 3 win, 41-8, vs. Manual. In Week 4, they’ll take on Normal West on the road on Friday at 7 pm.
The UHigh Pioneers defeated MacArthur 48-7. They will host the Lincoln High School Railsplitters this week at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Bloomington Central Catholic wraps up our week 3 recap, where they lost a tough one in overtime. Paxton-Buckley-Loda was able to hold off the Saints with a final score of 22-21. The Saints will host Monticello in week 4 on Friday at 7.
