Week Five Football Wrap-Up: Bloomington Continues to Dominate

NORMAL, Ill. – At the midway point in the season of IHSA football teams are starting to find their true identity. For the most part, it was domination for the five Bloomington-Normal teams.
Normal Community bounced back into the win column with a 42-0 win over Manual. The Ironmen defense stood tall to round them back to a 4-1 record. Friday they will take on Bloomington on the road at 7 pm.
Normal West won a close one versus Peoria 20-18. The Wildcats are now one game over 500 and will host Waubonsie Valley at 7 Friday.
Bloomington truly had no problem with Urbana in week 5, winning 84-0. The Purple Raiders are now 5-0 in the first year of Coach Mulcahy’s reign. In Week 6 they’ll host Normal Community Friday at 7 pm.
UHigh lost by a touchdown 38-30 versus Rochester. The Pioneers are now 3-2 on the year and will host Glenwood Friday at 7 pm.
Finally Bloomington Central Catholic got back on the right track with a 20-10 win over Tolono Unity. The Saints are also now 3-2 on the season and will host St. Joseph-Ogden Friday at 7 pm.
