Week 2 High School Football Recap: Three Teams Victorious on Friday Night

NORMAL, Ill. – After week two of the high school football season, three Bloomington/Normal teams are still unbeaten.
Normal Community defeated Normal West in the Chili Bowl. The Ironmen beat the Wildcats by a final score of 35 to 22. Normal Community now improves to 2 and 0 on the young season. Next Friday night, they head to Urbana to face the Urbana Tigers at 7 p.m.
Normal West gets their first loss of the season, making their record 1 and 1. They host the Danville Vikings next Friday at 7.
Another Bloomington-Normal matchup took place at Hancock Stadium between Normal University and Bloomington High School. The Purple Raiders of Bloomington took down Normal University by a score of 19 to 14. Bloomington remains undefeated at 2 and 0. The Purple Raiders will face the Manual Rams on the road September 12th at 7 p.m.
U-High’s record falls to 1 and 1. The Pioneers will look to get back on track as they face the MacArthur Generals at 7 p.m. on this coming Friday in Decatur.
Bloomington Central Catholic was the final team victorious this past Friday with a victory over Illinois Valley Central. The Saints won by a score of 59 to 0, improving their record to 2 and 0. Bloomington Central Catholic has a road trip in week three as they travel to Tolono to face the Tolono Unity Rockets on September 12th at 7 p.m.
