NORMAL, Ill.-Uptown Normal is hosting Treat Feast where kids can trick-or-treat, enjoy music, and explore all that Uptown has to offer in a fun and safe environment.
This upcoming weekend Normal will be closing down the streets of Uptown to host this event. Normal’s Communications Specialist, Rachelle Cantero, went into more detail about what to expect.
“Businesses will be at their front doors handing out candy,” said Cantero. “[The businesses] will be right outside so they do not need to knock on the door.”
The event will not be limited to just trick-or-treating–Cantero explained what else the event has to offer.
“We encourage all of our attendees to not form a line around Uptown, but to really explore the area, maybe go shopping or grab a snack, while they are walking around and grabbing candy from Uptown merchants.” Cantero continued, “We also have some entertainment scheduled for that day, so we want them to be free to do and experience all of that.”
Uptown Normal is prepared to make the event fun and safe for kids, according to Cantero.
“We close down the roads in Uptown to make it a really fun and safe environment for kids to run around and really explore the environment.”
The event will be held on Thursday, Oct. 28 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
