University Galleries to host Image of Research Competition

NORMAL, Ill. – The sixth annual Image of Research Exhibit will take place Thursday February 13, at University Galleries in Uptown Normal. Event Organizer Gina Hunt explained what people can expect from the event.
‘The exhibition will feature images created by ISU undergraduate and graduate students researchers who are all finalists in this year’s competition,” Hunt said. “Each finalist submitted one image that creatively represents their research along with a brief abstract description of their project.”
This year there are a total of 20 finalists and each finalist’s work will be shown during the exhibit. Following the exhibit there will be reception where the winners will be announced.
Winning entries will receive cash awards up to $200 and there will be a total of four winners.
First Place winner will win $ 200 cash, Second Place winner will win $150 cash, People Choice’s winner will win $100 cash, and the Honorable Mention will win $50 dollars cash.
“It’s a cool event, it’s a different experience and you will have a say in who one of the winners are.” Hunt said.
The exhibit is from 4 p.m. to 6:pm and it is open to the public.
