Transpace Gallery Presents ISU Photography Club’s Works

Written by on February 22, 2019

NORMAL- Members of Illinois State University Photography Club will have their favorite photos from a variety of shoots on display in the Center for Visual Arts Friday afternoon.

The club is open to students of all majors, allowing for the photographer’s unique perspectives to take an artistic form.

Photography Club President, Izabela Botko, is eager to show off her work.

“I’m super excited. For one, it’s a really good thing for everyone who is exhibited to put on their resume and for two, it’s always nice showing people your work and things that you’re producing because it looks so much better than just looking at it through a screen,” said Botko.

The goal of the club is to foster and build the photography community at ISU through education, networking, workshops and socials. According to their mission, curating work from numerous genres allows them to show how two members trying to portray the same subject using the same technique can come out with wildly different results.

Public Relations for the club, Brianna Kaleel, expresses that this is what makes their club and photography so unique.

“Often times what we do is we have people ask us what they want to learn and then we teach them. So, we’re all about our members because the only way we can teach is if they are interested in something,” said Kaleel.

The Transpace Gallery will be open from 12-3 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. on Thursday and 12-4 p.m. on Friday.
