NORMAL – The Chi Omega sorority host’s their annual charity Greek dance competition this weekend at Redbird Arena.
This specific philanthropic event will be hosted by the social sorority Chi Omega. The “March Madness” dance competition will support the Make-a-Wish Foundation with all proceeds from the event being donated to the organization. 2019 will mark the 43rd year of this fundraiser. Sororities and Fraternities from all Illinois State Greek councils will be supporting and participating in the show as a way to show their unity to one another. Alpha Omicron PI Member Ashley Dusa breaks down exactly what this competition means to them.
“The goal of March Madness is to come together as a Greek community and support Chi Omega’s Philanthropy event that raises money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation,” said Dusa. “This time spent together helps to build relationships within chapters while dancing for a great cause.”
A whopping 50,000 dollars was raised in 2017 says Chi Omega member Trisha Fisher. The sorority has high hopes to bring in even more this year.
The event will be hosted on Saturday, April 6th at Redbird Arena starting at 7 p.m.
