NORMAL, Ill. – On February 8, the Office of Sustainability at Illinois State University held a Succulent Café.
Students were invited to take part in growing their own succulent plant in the Circus Room of the Bone Student Center.
The turnout was high with over one hundred students attending, with the queue-line spanning from the Circus Room well into the student center. Succulents sold out fast within the first half hour of the event.
Director of the Office of Sustainability at ISU, Elisabeth Reed spoke on the office’s mission for ISU with creating sustainable and engaging events.
“We are the go to for any sustainability initiatives across campus,” Reed says. “We’re here to help and make our campus a more sustainable place.”
The Office of Sustainability’s next event will be on February 21. It will be a showing of a film called Taking Root: The Vision of Wangari Maathai.
