NORMAL, Ill.- The Illinois State women’s soccer team are on the road as they are set to take on the Drake Bulldogs on Wednesday, March 10. The Redbirds are looking to keep their undefeated Missouri Valley Conference record alive as they currently stand at 2-0.

The Redbirds are coming into Wednesday’s matchup following a 3-0 shutout  over Missouri State last week. Redshirt sophomore Priya Gillan recorded her second consecutive shutout as she faced four MSU shots and made two saves. Gillan expands on how proud she is of the Redbird’s back line.

“I’m just super proud of our back line and of our subs coming in,” said Gillan. “We’ve just done a super great job and we’ve really played as a team and as a unit. For me as a goalkeeper, it’s super exciting and I’m super proud of all of us.”

Gillan also expands on the team’s mindset coming into Wednesday’s matchup.

“We’re feeling really good right now,” said Gillan. “We’re coming off a two game winning streak and we’ve had two shutouts so far. So the team is super hyped but we know that Drake always gives us a hard time and we don’t wanna give them any less credit than they deserve but we’re super pumped and super excited.”

Kickoff for the matchup between the Redbirds and the Bulldogs is set at 7 pm.
