NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State volleyball team started off conference play on the road last week, taking a loss to Drake and a win over UNI.
Now sitting at 1-1, the Redbirds come home this weekend to take on Missouri State on Friday, and Southern Illinois on Saturday.
The last time Illinois State faced off against the Missouri State Bears, the Redbirds swept in their 2 game series at home.
Leading the way was senior Kaylee Martin with 15 kills in the first game, and sophomore Sarah Kushner with 21 kills on .442% hitting.
In the last affair between the Redbirds and the Salukis, the Redbirds won back-to-back games. This match-up earned ISU their 11th Missouri Valley Conference regular-season title. Sarah Kushner sealed the deal again in these sets with 27 kills over the 2 game series.
Both matches are set to begin at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday this weekend.
