NORMAL,Ill.- The Illinois State men’s golf team captured the Badger Invitational title yesterday afternoon over 13 other schools. ISU bested Sam Houston State by just three strokes to claim the title.
This was the second time the Redbirds have won the Badger Invitational, the first being in 2018. ISU was contending for the title from day one. They stood in second place after day one shooting two under par as a team. Illinois State then went on to break a school record for a single round score of 15 under par to help them take over first place. This proved to be enough for the Redbirds as they did not give up the lead and went on to win the tournament.
