Redbirds Drop Snowbird Classic Finale 5-3 to Miami (OH)

NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State Redbird baseball team fell 5-3 in the final game of the Snowbird Classic to Miami Ohio, falling to 5-2 in their first seven games of the regular season.
ISU saw Luke Teschke start giving up one earned run in 2 innings pitched. He threw 3 walks and struck out two with one HBP. Toby Schriefer came in the third inning, walking four and hitting another Miami player.
Henry Brummel would then enter the game in the middle of the fourth inning, striking out two whilst beaning another Redhawk. Jacob Culp would pitch only .2 innings, giving up three runs on one walk and two strikeouts. Before Trenton Roehler would close the game, giving up a run on 2 walks and three strikeouts.
Despite the poor pitching preformance the Redbirds saw Josh Outlaw have two hits and score a run in his fifth straight game with a hit.
Grahm Mastros also continued his streak of three games with a hit, and Junior Michael Carrano recorded his first home run as a Redbird in a two-run shot in the second inning.
ISU will next face Alabama A&M away on Wednesday Feburray 25th, with first pitch at 1 pm.
