The Illinois State Redbirds baseball returns home from Champaign for a three-game series against their I-74 rivals, the Bradley Braves, this weekend.
In their last outing, the Redbirds notched a season-high 19 hits in their 13-6 win over the Illinois Fighting Illini on Tuesday, improving their record to 23-17 overall.
ISU welcomes a Bradley team that currently has a record of 8-33 with a conference mark of 4-11, putting them second to last in the Missouri Valley. The Braves are also currently riding a six game skid heading into the weekend.
Head Coach Steve Holm announced the starters for games one and two, with game three’s starter to be determined.
Game one will see Junior Michael Addari on the bump for ISU. In his last outing on April 17, Addari gave up six hits, one earned run, with five walks and six strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work. This will be Addari’s second time pitching against Bradley. He last pitched against the Braves on April 19 last season where he pitched 0.1 innings giving up a double.
Game two will feature Redshirt Sophomore Carson Cormier, who notched 13 strikeouts, giving up four hits and zero earned runs in 7.0 innings in his last appearance on April 18 against Murray State. This will be the first time the Westford, Mass. native faces the Braves.
Game one is set for April 24 at 5 p.m., game two is April 25 at 3 p.m. and game three is set for April 26 at 1 p.m.
