NORMAL, Ill. – The Redbirds Swimming and Diving team will face the University of Ohio Bobcats this Friday and Saturday at Horton Pool. The meet is centered around Breast Cancer Awareness, as October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, prompting the team to wear pink swim caps.
The University of Ohio is coming off a win against the University of Toledo. Meanwhile, the Redbirds are coming off a tough loss against Indiana State but are looking to bounce back. In the last meet, Eva Reyes earned a diving title for the one-meter and three-meter. Chloe Tyler claimed a title for the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.88. This past week, the Redbirds had a bye week to prepare for the two-day meet this weekend. On Friday the meeting begins at 4 pm and on Saturday at noon.
Last year, against the Bobcats, the Redbirds split the two-day meet, losing day one and winning day two. Reyes won in the one-and-three-meter last year and has started off this year the same way.
