The Redbirds traveled to Green Bay to take on UW-Green Bay in their contest on Sunday before coming back to Normal. The match resulted in a draw.
Both teams came into the game looking for their first victory of the year.
The Redbirds came out firing as Eve Gricius found a scoring opportunity resulting in a shot on goal. But not long after that, the game was paused due to lighting in the area.
The lightning delay lasted about an hour, and the Redbirds found more scoring opportunities from Chloe Cline and Eve Gricius again. The score ended up being 0-0 going into the half.
To open the second half, ISU would break through, getting a goal from Abby Hall in the 51st minute. It was Hall’s first of the year assisted by Erika Wells. Green Bay was then able to net a penalty kick in the 78th minute to even the score at one a piece, which ended up being the final score.
The Redbirds would finish the week with a season record of 0-3-1. ISU will be back in action at home against Western Illinois, Thursday at 7 p.m.
