Redbird Soccer Settles for Two Draws in Challenging Week

NORMAL, Ill. -Illinois State Soccer played two games this week with the opponents being Eastern Illinois and Saint Louis. Both games had the result of a draw and both scores were the same, 0-0.
The Redbirds week began on Thursday evening when the Eastern Illinois Panthers came to town. ISU started off hot with a shot on goal from the team leader in goals, Rylann Law, but Eastern was able to keep it scoreless. The Redbirds continued their pressure going into halftime, outshooting the Panthers 6-1.
ISU continued to outshoot the Panthers in the second half but unfortunately their hard work did not result in any goals in the match with the final being 0-0. Rylann Law and Sammi Cenek both tallied 3 shots each.
Illinois State travelled to Saint Louis on Sunday afternoon for another non-conference game against the Billikens. Illinois State would be lucky to get out of this one a draw as they were out shot in the game 15-6. The positive news however is that ISU has only conceded a single goal in their past 6 matches.
ISU Soccer now sits with a record of 3-4-3. Their next matchup will begin conference play as Murray State comes to town Thursday evening.
