So Close to What – Tate McRae
Sky Rodriguez February 24, 2025
Third time may be a charm with Tate McRae’s third studio album. I listened to this entire album, didn’t skip one song, and didn’t get bored once. I will admit I’ve never listened to a full Tate album until this one and I have quickly become a fan girl. Every song on the album is upbeat and almost feels nostalgic. This album is about Tate McRae turning 21 and coming into this new era of womanhood and maturity but having to deal with how the media views her. I think it’s something every young woman could use right now.
If I had to choose three of my favorite songs from this album they would be “2 Hands” “Revolving Door” which are two very upbeat songs that are relatable and honestly make me feel myself. My final favorite is “bloodonmyhands” ft. Flo Milli. I love Flo Millis’ feature in this song. I haven’t heard much from her in a while and she sounds great. Tate has one more feature in this album on her song “I know love” which is featuring The Kid LAROI. This song is another favorite of mine on the album.
I would love to see Tate McRae go on a tour for this album and I would certainly make it a priority to see her. I’ve heard she is a great performer, has great music videos, and she just looks so great in everything she’s doing. I’ve been following her on social media before she had 1 million so I’m excited that im becoming a fan all over again. I would give this album an overall rating of an 8.7/10
