P1Harmony – Killin’ It

Shem Villacarlos March 18, 2024

By Shem Villacarlos

P1Harmony is a six-member K-Pop boy band that debuted in October 2020. Since then, they have released six different EPs and singles but officially released their first album on February 5, 2024. Their first full-length album, “Killin’ It,” has ten tracks and a music video with thirteen million views. They are mainly a hip-hop based group, with some of their singles and tracks in the album with R&B elements. The album showcases a variety of music genres with lots of potential to gain more listeners and possibly an even larger fanbase. Although they are considered an underrated K-Pop group, that feels too criminal to say.

Just listen to the group’s leading single titled just like the album “Killin’ It” with its addictive and intensely percussive song. It will make any listener go “yeah, we slay” just like in the song. The same percussive and fast-paced energy continues in their tracks “Street Star” and “Everybody Clap” with a more distinguished attitude and creativity from each member. Many of the tracks are guaranteed to get anyone up and grooving. Just as one of my good friends would say, “Unlock your groove.” That is exactly what this album is capable of for new listeners. But there are still plenty more tracks that are addictive and have different musical elements.

Aside from the loud and talk-heavy songs in the album, they still keep the smooth rhythm in the “I See U” and “Late Night Calls” tracks. These tracks, in particular, present more of their harmonies and smooth vocal skills. Their lyrical creativity shines a lot more in “Emergency” with even more catchy tunes and a slight touch of grunge. This song followed by “2Nite” has some of the best lyrics and ad-libs. The group does an incredible job at highlighting a variety of music genres and sounds throughout the album. With mixtures of pop, hip-hop, R&B, grunge, and rap integrated in one album shows how much potential this crew has.

Their new album still continues to be killin’ it in the music charts and expanding their fanbase. As the group gains more listeners, then they are bound to perform to more audiences. Also, P1Harmony continues to get ready for their next tour, P1ustage H: UTOP1A,” in North America starting in May 2024. A K-Pop concert with this group is bound to be the grooviest and one of the coolest concerts ever.
