Drowning Pool And Saliva- The Castle Theatre
Logan Moeller April 8, 2024
On Sunday, April 7th Drowning Pool and Saliva took the stage at the Castle Theatre in Bloomington, IL. The show started with the band Any Given Sin which was the perfect way to bring the energy up for the two main acts. All three of the bands were metal bands which is not a genre that I know a ton about but this show was an absolute blast.
Aside from watching the show I also helped the band set up the stage before the performance. I was extremely nervous to meet such amazing artists but they were all extremely nice and helped assist me on my first day on the job.
The second band that took the stage was Drowning Pool who was popularized by the song Bodies. I was extremely excited for this band because I grew up playing their music on the video game Guitar Hero. Drowning Pool got the whole theater up on their feet and people were moshing and crowd surfing all around. My favorite part of the set was when they turned off all the lights in the venue and asked fans to light up the stage with lighters or flashlights. This was so cool to see because the whole venue was shining and it lit up the whole stage beautifully. When the band closed with the song Bodies the crowd went wild and was the perfect way to wrap up the show.
Finally, the show ended with the band Saliva who made the hit song Click Click Boom. This was another band I was very excited for because my father is a huge fan of theirs and I grew up hearing their music. Apart from the music sounding extremely good live they also gave some amazing speeches throughout the night which was amazing to learn more about the artists.
Although this concert was on a Sunday night everyone in attendance still brought the energy and made it an amazing show. The Castle Theatre was the perfect place for this show and it was one of my favorite concerts ever.
