Absolutely – Dijon Duenas

Dijon Duenas or better known as Dijon is an artist that has been putting out music since 2017 with the music that he was putting out were singles or EP. He currently has over 1.9 million Spotify listeners, with a little over 60,000 listeners coming from Los Angeles California. His debut album, Absolutely, was released on November 5, 2021. The album has 12 tracks and is 31 minutes long and 38 seconds long.

“Big Mike’s” is the first song of the album and it sets the mood for the rest of the album. This mood of the song is being open and vulnerable. The song would be very interesting to listen because of the wide variety of instruments that was used. The song has over 2.9 million streams on Spotify. The song might slightly drag at times with the run time being 4 minutes and
35 seconds but in the end it fits.

“Many Times” hits the ground running with an upbeat tempo. This upbeat tempo is different from the rest of the album, the song almost seems to be an outlier, but with this being the outlier in tempo, in my opinion, works because it keeps the listener on their toes. The lead into the song
helps it seem to the listener that Dijon is putting his heart into the song, almost like he was speaking from the past. The song ending almost seamlessly leads into the song “Annie”. The
runtime for the song is 2 minutes and 6 seconds and the song has over 10 million streams on Spotify.

“The Dress” is song that is arguably the most popular song on this album with over 26 million streams on Spotify. The song to me makes me want to go out and dance. The song just has this energy to it that is hard to explain but it personally it just feels good and just makes you want to dance. The runtime of the song is 3 minutes and 4 seconds, this runtime almost seems perfect for this song.

The album as a whole seems raw and emotional. This album would be a great listening party album and the energy of the album would be a communal experience. With this being Dijon’s debut album, I’m excited to see what he does next. I’m going to be on the lookout for tickets for his concert.
