Pedestrian fatally struck by train in Normal

NORMAL, Ill. – The Normal Police are investigating a report received at 4:15 p.m. yesterday of a pedestrian hit by a train near the tracks at Towanda Ave. and Kays Drive.

Upon arrival, the officers located the individual, a 19-year-old male, who was pronounced deceased at 5:04 p.m. by the McLean County Coroner’s Office. Coroner Kathleen Yoder has confirmed an autopsy will take place today. The identity of the decedent will remain anonymous until further notice.
