Metcalf student reported missing

UPDATE: Contreras was located at approximately 10:22 p.m. on Feb. 9

NORMAL, Ill. — Illinois State University Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing child.

Miguel Contreras, 12, was last seen walking alone near the corner of Fell Avenue and North Street at around 5:37 p.m. He was heading toward the University Quad after participating in after-school activities.

Contreras is about 4 feet 7 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a blue coat, dark pants and tennis shoes. He has short, dark brown hair and wears glasses.

ISU police are actively searching for Contreras with the help of other local law enforcement agencies and the McLean County Search and Rescue Team. McLean County Emergency Management vehicles are on site near Metcalf.

Anyone with information about Contreras’ whereabouts is asked to contact ISU police at 309-438-8631. If he is spotted, call 911 immediately.
