McLean County Republicans weigh-in on the upcoming election

Written by on October 30, 2024

NORMAL, Ill. — The McLean County Republicans look to make one final push with election season right around the corner.

Chairman, Dennis Grundler explained the ideology in which the group will stand behind.

“We are for safety in the community, lower taxes and for government oversight,” Gundler said.

In order to reach a variety of audiences, Grundler and his team have gone through text messaging, billboard and radio advertisement. Grundler gave his approach on door-to-door marketing.

“I think knocking on doors and talking to people is the best way,” Grundler said. “Like any advertising, 90 percent of what you do is a waste…the problem is you do not know what 10 percent of that is going to work.”

Regardless of the outcome of the local elections, Grundler shared his goals for the future of McLean County.

“I would like to see more interaction with the people in the county for how they would like to see things done,” Grundler said. “We are in a representative government and we vote for who we want, but it seems to me we just elect them and forget it. I would like to see people more engaged all the time.”

Additionally, Grundler added remarks about the outcome of the 2024 presidential election, and questions the United States government about its progression in future years.

“No matter who is elected, I would love to see us all come together,” he said. “I am so tired of the division of both sides and people not working together. It seems like now if you disagree with one side you hate each other, and I do not understand how we got like that.”

Grundler and the McLean Country Republicans will hold at watch party at Rob Dobs Restaurant on Nov 5.
