NORMAL, Ill. – As the fall semester is ramping up, many ISU students are beginning to prepare for midterms. Tutor Elle Podolak shares how and where students can achieve academic success.
“One important tactic is to never procrastinate, stay on top of your work and study little things day-by-day. I would also say if you are struggling and need help don’t be afraid to reach out,” Podolak said.
Podolak is a tutor at the Julia N. Visor Center. They offer free tutoring sessions for mostly 100-level courses and certain 200-level courses. They offer sessions for Accounting, Math, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Anthropology and other subjects, as well as writing assistance for any circumstance.
The Visor Center also holds a variety of seminars and workshops to help students break bad academic habits and form beneficial ones in their place.
Sign-ups can be found on the University College website or completed over the phone or in person. The Visor Center is located on the lower level of the Vrooman Center between Hewett and Manchester Halls.
