NORMAL, Ill. – The NCAA Gymnastics Regionals will feature three Redbirds when the meet takes place in Oklahoma.

Angelica Labat, Jaye Mack and Alana Laster will be the trio competing in the meet. For Labat, this will be her second year competing in the meet. As for the other two, their years as freshmen are wrapping up with their first appearance in the regional.

“We are so proud of these three young ladies and to see all their hard work pay off,” said Head Coach Bob Conkling. “All three continually represent themselves, their team and their school to the best of their ability, so I’m sure it will be no different at Regionals.”

Labat, the back-to-back Midwest Independent Conference Gymnast of the Year, is ranked No. 36 nationally in the all-around, sporting a national qualifying score of 39.310. One way Labat earned such a high score was with her career-best score of 39.475, which was done in a meet against Southeast Missouri State, tying the score she reached at last year’s Regional.

Laster will be competing in the vault. Her NQS stands at 9.875, and her accolades also include three Newcomer of the Week Awards and a Performance of the Year Award.

Also familiar to the Newcomer of the Week Award is Jaye Mack, who enters Regionals as MIC Co-Champion on the floor. Mack has scored a 9.9 or better in five meets, including four-straight late in the season.

Regionals start on March 30, lasting until April 2, hosted by Oklahoma.
