Illinois State Volleyball Hits the Road to For Matches With Indiana State and Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — After a four-match homestand, Illinois State senor libero Sammi Bunch was named MVC Libero of the Week after ranking eighth in digs in the NCAA over the past week.

This week, Illinois State volleyball hits the road to take on Evansville on Friday at 6 p.m. Following the match, the Redbirds will travel to Terre Haute, Indiana to face Indiana State on Saturday at 4 p.m.

The Aces’ last match was on Oct. 9 against UIC, resulting in a 3-1 loss. Illinois State holds a 54-8 all-time record against Evansville, including a 23-1 record on the road and a 36-8 record in conference play. The Redbirds last faced Evansville in November 2025, earning a sweep. In that match, outside hitter Oliwia Caputa recorded eight kills.

Indiana State is coming off a 3-1 loss against Drake, dropping its record to 7-10 overall. The Redbirds last faced the Sycomores about a week ago, winning 3-1. Illinois State holds a 30-8 record against Indiana State in matches played in Indiana.

In last week’s matchup, two Redbirds recorded double-digit kills. The Redbirds also held the Sycamores to a .167 hitting percentage, marking the 13th time this season. During the match, Bunch reached a milestone by recording her 1,000th career dig.
