NORMAL, Ill. – The U.S. News and World Report recently ranked Illinois State University No. 65 in Best Value Schools. This achievement considers the average cost and academic quality of institutions nationwide.

Illinois State’s Executive Director of Admissions and Recruitment Marketing Jeff Mavros reports the university has earned this accomplishment due to scoring a high calculation. He believes this national acclaim could benefit students by adding credibility to the affordable education one can receive at Illinois State University.

Roughly eight out of every ten students attending ISU receive aid, need-based or not, whether that be in the form of grants, scholarships or loans. According to Mavros, the university provides $42 million over the course of four classes of enrolled students in scholarships alone, and about one out of every three ISU students graduates debt-free.

Mavros expressed Illinois Stats willingness to support students working to further their education. As tuition revenue rises, it is reinvested in campus projects such as the Mennonite Lab School, Bone Student Center and College of Engineering.

He elaborated on this point, detailing ISU’s mission to support students.

Mavros said, “It speaks to the commitment the university has in making the experience always better for students.”

He also expressed the hope that students in search of a college can recognize the standing ISU has amongst other distinguished universities.
