Governor J.B Pritzker celebrates growth of Rockford International Airport

Rockford- Governor J.B Pritzker celebrated the Rockford’s International airport growth Monday evening.

The airport was awarded one of the fastest-growing cargo airports in the world. Pritzker joined other city officials as he spoke on the progress the city has made and what to expect in the future.

The airport continues job growth and provides some of the biggest capital investment for funding.

The funding is used to fix sidewalks, streets, bike trails, parks, schools, transportation, and most importantly the airport all around the city of Rockford.

Pritzker congratulated Mike Dunn, the Airport Executive Officer, and Senator Dick Durbin on the partnership and contributions made for the airport and city of Rockford.

Pritzker explains why Rockford is such a great place to conduct projects like these.

“It all demonstrates what everybody here already knows, this is a great place to do business,” said Pritzker. “We should be attracting businesses from all over the country to Rockford.”

Companies such as Amazon, United Parcel Service (UPS), and AAR, have made investments for the airport.

Pritzker hopes this will improve with economic growth of the city and increase job growth for the state of Illinois.
