NORMAL, Ill. – The Children’s Discovery Museum is holding its annual Halloween Hoopla event Friday, October 24, from 6 to 8 p.m.

The event was created to have a fun, indoor Halloween event that local families could participate in as part of the holiday season. According to Museum Events Coordinator Amy Pitzer, the event’s been going as long as the museum’s been in Normal.

“Costumes and dressing up are imaginative play activities, so it’s really a part of what we do every day,” Pitzer said. “Halloween is a great opportunity to have a specialized event for that to happen with the entire family.”

The event is one of several Holiday Family Fun Nights that the museum hosts each year. The event will feature trick-or-treating, costumes, crafts and STEM activities, along with all of the museum’s regular exhibits.

“One of the greatest parts is it’s a warm opportunity to do all of the Halloween fun inside, no matter what the weather is,” Pitzer said.

Attending the event requires tickets, which interested parents can get online in advance or at the door right before the event itself. The museum will also be hosting a Christmas-themed event called “Jammies and Jingles” in early December.
