Chase Walker named to MVC First Team

NORMAL, Ill.- Illinois State junior Chase Walker has been selected to the All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday morning.
This is the second time in Walker’s career he has earned First Team All-Conference recognition. This makes Walker only the fourth Redbird to receive the honor twice in their career, also becoming the 18th player to receive First Team honors in program history.
Throughout the 2025-2026 season, Walker has averaged 13.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, while shooting 53.7% from the field and 73% from the free throw line. Walker has been named the MVC player of the week twice this season.
During his three seasons with the Redbirds, Walker has totaled 953 career points, with a .560 career field-goal percentage, which ranks as the fifth-highest in program history.
Illinois State now heads into the MVC tournament as the No. 3 seed with a 20-11 record, their second straight 20-win season. The Redbirds will begin postseason play Friday at 8:30 p.m., facing the winner of the matchup between Northern Iowa and Evansville.
